There's just something about this pair! Kit Turner and Jackson Forge are nothing alike, but they definitely make each other better and they certainly deserve to be together. We first met them in The Thief of Blackfriars Lane and this new book gives us the chance to know them even better. Author Michelle Griep takes us back to 1885 London and it doesn't take long for the action to begin. A wedding is planned but who knows what will happen when Kit steps in to solve a long-ago crime? Will she be able to give up her former ways? Can Detective Forge trust this streetwise swindler to finally settle down? I loved this awesome Victorian mystery and I hope that we haven't seen the last of Blackfriars Lane. The Bride of Blackfriars Lane is a wonderful mixture of danger, intrigue, and romance, and Griep has a remarkable way of placing her readers right into that mix. Don't ask me to relive the scene with Kit and the rats!! There are also murderers, thieves, and some shenanigans that I didn't anticipate, along with thrilling chemistry between Kit and Jackson. Their witty conversations remind me of the screwball romantic comedy films of the 1940s, but Griep also weaves an inspiring faith thread into the story, and it's apparent that Jackson's influence has changed Kit for the better.
