The Simplified KJV [Pewter Branch]

I am absolutely loving this edition (without references and misc notes). I find myself reading my Bible more than ever and I look forward to seeing other sizes and formats becoming available.

Our family just changed from other versions to this Simplified KJV for family devotions. I wanted our family to get used to the KJV and be able to read it, and they have. Now, though, I want them to be able to read it and memorize it so others can better understand it. I have read many Bible versions, and find most them insufficient or annoying, whether because of them changing things, neglecting the actual biblical words in order to use words that sound better and more pleasant to an editor, or even many of the modern versions having poor grammar. I have been looking for a version that does precisely this: takes the KJV, sticks with it, but simply updates it a little while remaining faithful to the KJV. I look forward to continuing to read this version and look greatly forward to a few readjustments the publisher plans to make it even better and faithful to the KJV, as well and a greater variety of Bible options, such as larger print, cross references, and (hopefully) brown or green leather! If you like the KJV, you will likely like this. In my opinion, this is better than the ESV, NASB, and certainly better than the NIV. It is much more faithful to the original languages than versions such as The Message or the Passion translation. Try this one.

I absolutely enjoy this Bible, I would have given it five stars but the font could be larger. So Barbour please produce a Large Print in leather or bonded leather. And get that 5th star.

There are many people who want to remain loyal to the King James Bible but often find it hard to understand. Now there is a new version that is a perfect solution! The Simplified KJV has the original translation found in the 1611 King James Bible, but some of the verbs and punctuation have been changed to aid in our understanding. I especially like that the pronouns for God are capitalized to show reverence and clarity, the words of Christ are printed in red, the font is easy-to-read, and there are wide margins for notes. Throw in several pages of colored maps, a Revision guide that shows the changes that have been made, and a comprehensive Dictionary/Concordance, and you have a fantastic resource!
