Letters of Trust

This is the first book in Wanda Brunstetter 's new series The Friendship Letters. Vic and Eleanor suffered a tragedy and instead of drawing them closer; it instead pulls them apart due to the way they handle it. Vic turned to alcohol to ease his guilt rather then turning to his wife, his family or especially his faith. But after almost losing everything, Vic realizes he has a problem and gets the help he needs. I love the interaction between Eleanor and her friend Dorsett and her mother in law. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Such a heartwarming, touching story filled with compassion by those seeking to help others who are less fortunate. The book is inspiring and shows just how much people may often need help, but the true help comes in having faith and trust in God. Kim Vogel Sawyer did an amazing job with the writing of this book. Wanda E. Brunstetter is best known for her books about the Amish but this may be one of the most relevant books that she's ever written! Letters of Trust tackles the topics of depression and alcoholism, two subjects that are often unseen in Amish fiction. Eleanor and Vic Lapp find themselves facing overwhelming struggles and Eleanor's comfort comes in the form of the correspondence that she shares with her best friend who lives in another town. She is able to share in her letters the thoughts that she can't tell others, and Doretta Schwartz responds with support, friendship, and prayers. The letters between these two friends truly become letters of trust! Brunstetter shares a moving story that shows how alcoholism affects the whole family. She stresses the need for understanding and compassion and reminds us that faith, prayer, and forgiveness are necessary tools for everyone! Letters of Trust is a beautiful story and a must-read for all who enjoy Amish Christian fiction. I received a copy of this book from the author. There was no obligation or a positive review. Eleanor, began her journey with her new Husband,Vic, throught the story,it was a constant struggle for her, resorting to writing letterTo a dear friend Doretta, usually just writing about daily life, but as Vic's drinking progressed, her letter became more open and detailed, as she trusted her dear friend, to keep a confidence, finally after so many months of stuggling, Vic's parents had to know what was happening. Do they support them both, were they rejected, did friend come along side, you need to order this wonderful book, and find about the surprise ending.

My favorite author, Wanda Brunstetter, has written another awesome Amish novel. She has a way in her writing that you can't put the book down until you finish. This novel about alcoholism shows that any family may have to deal with this disease. What led newlyweds Eleanor and Vic to have to deal this disease? When one stops praying and loses faith in God, nothing in life goes well. Can't wait until noon 2, Letters of Comfort, comes out in August 3023.

This is another wonderful Amish book from Wanda. This book deals with an addiction that happens in a lot of peoples life and can cause stress everyone around the person. You'll fuind this being Book One in the Friendship Letters and I highly recommend it. Wanda hit a grand slam with this!
