Her Heart Is Set on One Man

Full of faith, hope, and romance, this series takes you into the Heart of Amish Country.

Miriam Zook has loved David Miller her whole life, and she confessed her feelings the night before he moved to Indiana and joined the Mennonite church. Miriam, having been baptized into the Amish faith, makes an income by painting beautiful vignettes of Amish life. She has never married, since no one ever compared to David, and, as she is an only child, this concerns the women in her family greatly. Now, seven years after leaving, David is back in Willow Creek to embrace his Amish roots and join the church. Miriam’s heart awakens, but can she dare to hope that he will also embrace her?

    Left Me Smiling

Published by Lelia (Lucy) Reynolds on Jul 10, 2026

This is such an enjoyable series of young Amish women and the cats they were given by an older lady that wants them all to be raised inside. I loved the uniqueness of this book as Miriam is an artist that is allowed to sell her paintings in an art gallery. I could visualize the scenes she was portraying by the descriptive written words.David is a complex character that carries deep hurts. I wanted to hold his wood carvings as they sounded lifelike. This is a story of second chances, forgiveness, and learning to trust again. It shows how important the lines of communication are and the heartbreak of running from difficult situations. I found this a very enjoyable lighthearted read that left me feeling happy and hopeful. From the cover to the last page I was invested in this book and look forward to reading more. I received a complimentary copy from CelebrateLit. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.
