Lizzie Has Dreams That Won’t Be Deterred

Full of faith, hope, and romance, this new series takes you into the Heart of Amish country.

Ever since attending a wedding in Louisiana, Lizzie Miller has been fascinated by French baked goods. With permission of her parents and bishop, she did a two-year internship in a French bakery in New Orleans. When a local Amish bakery became available, she bought it and opened her own French inspired bakery.

But now someone wants her out of business. During her grand opening, a strange man accosts her, then a brick is tossed through her window wrapped in a note telling her to leave. Someone breaks into her apartment above the bakery, and her cat chases the intruder out.

With the help of her friends, Lizzie will get to the bottom of why someone wishes her to fail. And at the same time, she’ll realize that sometimes dreams can be fulfilled with what—or who—was always close at hand, just waiting to be noticed.

    Enjoyable Amish Cozy Mystery!

Published by Connie Porter Saunders on Apr 21, 2025

Amish cooking is certainly some of the best, but Lizzie Miller longed to offer French recipes to the people in Willow Creek, Ohio. Her dream of having a bakery was answered until strange happenings threatened to destroy all she'd been working for. Why was her bakery vandalized on its opening day, and who continued to target The Plain Beignet? This newest addition to the Heart of the Amish series is a pleasing mix of romance, mystery, and the Amish lifestyle. Likable characters, an interesting hundred-year-old murder, and a surprising villain make this an intriguing cozy mystery! Lizzie has dreamed of opening a New Orleans style French Bakery since she tasted the pastries years ago. After completing an internship and then working in a local bakery for a few years she is excited and ready to open her own bakery. Not long after she opens a rock is thrown through her front window and she notices a little man that seems concerning showing up in and around her bakery. She reports these incidents to the local police and she hopes these things will not keep people from coming to her bakery, before the mystery is solved. Mysteries Abound

Published by TINA HOOVER on Apr 09, 2025

5 stars, Mysteries Abound LIZZIE'S LITTLE MOUSE (THE HEART OF THE AMISH SERIES BOOK 8) by Anne Blackburne Elizabeth "Lizzie" Miller has opened her dream business The Plain Beignet in downtown Willow Creek, Ohio. It is an Amish/French bakery, that is sure to be a hit with the residents and tourists, alike. The old building is large and has a nice sized apartment upstairs, where she lives. Lizzie learned all about working in a French bakery from her stay in New Orleans, several years ago. She fell in love with the bakery and wanted to have her own, someday. She lives with her cat, given to her by her friend Lydia several years ago. Lydia had given several of the Amish misses in their district a kitten, extracting a promise from each of them to keep them as indoor cats. Mysterious things begin to happen and it appears that someone wants her to abandon her dream of owning a bakery. Her good friends are determined to help her keep the bakery open. Her childhood friend John Bontrager insists on being around to keep the Amish women safe. This is a delightful story of friendship, mystery, and faith. Highly recommend. It is a standalone in a series, the series can be read in any order.
