Position Title: Sales Support Specialist
Position Overview:
The Sales Support Specialist is vital in supporting our sales department, ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of operations from order entry to product promotion. This role provides direct administrative and logistical support to the Director of Sales, handling various assignments essential to the department's strategy. It is also responsible for the critical function of receiving and accurately processing all customer purchase orders (POs).
Beyond order entry, the Specialist supports external sales representatives and customers by managing the preparation and distribution of book samples and catalogs, updating inventory across key online marketplaces, and uploading current promotional materials to the Barbour website. Success in this position requires a high degree of administrative skill, meticulous attention to detail, and a calm, reliable focus when managing routine, deadline-driven tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and enter customer POs into order entry system
- Provide minor customer service solutions, when appropriate
- Ship product samples and supplies to external sales reps and customers
- Update online marketplaces with product inventory changes
- Create order forms for each catalog using MS Word, etc.
- Ensure Barbour’s B2B website is current by uploading promotional sales flyers, etc.
Skill Requirements:
- Very strong computer skills, especially with MS Office suite
- Works well with others or independently
- Able to create and maintain organizational systems
- Strong administrative skills such as typing, digital filing, and email correspondence
- Calmly able to meet project deadlines
- Maintains focus and concentration even in repeating routine tasks
