TITLE: Sales Support Specialist
POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Sales Support Specialist is a central figure in the Barbour Publishing sales department, responsible for ensuring the seamless execution of B2B operations. This role serves as the lead for the Faire.com platform, overseeing customer relationships, order flow, and digital storefront maintenance. Additionally, the Specialist provides administrative, creative, and logistical support to the Sales Department and external sales representatives to enhance Barbour’s presence across all retail channels.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Marketplace & Faire.com Management:
- Platform Lead: Act as the dedicated lead for Faire.com, managing all direct messaging, customer inquiries, and relationship-building efforts.
- Order Processing: Receive and accurately enter purchase orders (POs) from Faire and various other sales channels into the internal system (Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central).
- Inventory Control: Proactively update online marketplaces with product inventory changes via CSV uploads and data entry to ensure accuracy.
Sales & Digital Support:
- Creative Asset Production: Create and maintain professional order forms using MS Word, Canva, and other design tools.
- B2B Website Maintenance: Ensure the Barbour B2B website is current by uploading new promotional flyers, order forms, and digital catalogs.
- Customer Service Solutions: Provide thoughtful customer service solutions and problem-solving accounts when operational issues arise.
- Sales Calls: Conduct outreach calls to established customers who have not yet placed their annual reorders to present current year product packages.
Logistics & Field Support:
- Sample Management: Orchestrate the shipping of product samples and essential supplies to external sales representatives and key customers.
- Trade Show Coordination: Assist with the logistical planning, preparation, and execution of industry trade shows.
- Administrative Assistance: Support the Director of Sales with specialized projects, digital filing, and organizational systems that improve departmental efficiency.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical Proficiency: Advanced computer skills, specifically within the MS Office Suite (Excel, Word) and creative platforms like Canva.
- Operational Accuracy: A high degree of administrative skill, including fast/accurate typing and the ability to maintain focus during routine, repetitive tasks.
- Organizational Mindset: The ability to create, maintain, and improve organizational systems independently.
- Communication Etiquette: Exceptional digital communication skills, maintaining a professional and helpful tone in all email and marketplace correspondence.
- Reliability: Proven ability to meet strict project deadlines while remaining calm and focused in a fast-paced environment.
