News, Press & Reviews

The packaging for this novel for middle readers is designed to evoke a best-selling, general-market series about three unfortunate orphans.

While the tale of young Landon Snow should appeal to children and youth who enjoy fantasy and adventure, it lacks the satirical edge and humor characteristic of the series it seems designed to imitate.

The story line revolves around an 11-year-old boy who receives an ancient Bible and dream stone and soon finds himself in another world inhabited by strange creatures called Odds. Cryptic messages compel the hero to search the unpredictable land for Vates, a poet/prophet behind the unusual writings. Close calls and a vast array of characters fill this fast-paced story, which leads at last to the greatest question of all: The Auctor's Riddle.

Most of Landon's adventure are entertainment without deep meaning, but the novel concludes with a strong Christian message about the Author of everything.

A sequel, Landon Snow and the Shadows of Malus Quidam, will release in March.
