I’m excited that you’re reading this book. Inside, you’ll find a collection of powerful stories written by some of my friends and colleagues as well as the answers from the Bible on dozens of hard-hitting topics. My hope is that the testimonies and scriptural principles I have presented here will transform your life.

This resource can be used in two ways:

(1) Study it as a 50-day devotional. Some psychologists claim that it takes about 21 consecutive days to start a habit—I’m giving you 50. Beginning right now, read a devotional entry everyday, allowing the scriptures to go deep into your heart and the lessons to become a part of your daily routine—in other words, a habit for life.

(2) Refer to it as a topical reference guide. Think of this as a concordance or a promise book. Once you’ve read all the devotions, keep this resource close by—on your nightstand, on your desk, or in your bookbag. When a topic comes up, whether at school, church, or work, you can crack open the pages and have an instant story to tell, along with scripture and applications. So if someone tells you she is considering an abortion, or he is contemplating suicide, you can always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have (1 Peter 3:15).
