Callie was a year-rounder, mountain girl. Morgan, award-winning entertainer Trey to his many fans, was summer folk, and Callie’s protective grandmother firmly told her the two don’t mix. But that was before Morgan gave Callie a scholarship to college, before they became friends. But when it appeared Morgan had more than friendship in mind, Callie discovers why her grandmother is so adamant, forcing her questioning herself, Morgan and the possibility of a future. In the second in this series, Trey suffers a blast to his throat and his ego. Can even Callie shake him out of the fear he might never sing again?
The novella gives us one final glimpse of Morgan and Callie…a rather sweet epilogue that leaves the reader satisfied.
I jumped at the chance to reacquaint myself with Callie and Morgan, having read their stories as Heartsong Present novels. There is both a depth and sweetness about their faith and relationship that lifts my spirits and gives me hope in love, in forgiveness and the endurance of a relationship built on Christ as well as in His ability to surmount all prejudice and pain when we trust Him.
A great read.
