Brinkley/Cook Marriage Can Be Restored and Renovated

Both parties appear open to reconciliation, according to news reports

Recent news reports indicate that initial divorce papers filed by fashion model Christie Brinkley against husband Peter Cook have yet to be served on Cook. After 10 years of marriage, Cook, who has been publicly accused of having an affair with a teenage assistant, wants to save the marriage, according to statements from his lawyer.

Dr. David Clarke, a clinical psychologist in Tampa, Florida, said that saving a marriage at this point is possible, if both parties are willing to commit to the hard work needed, as it appears is the case for Brinkley and Cook. He also had some words of advice for critics of Ms. Brinkley.

"Those who are giving Christie Brinkley a hard time for her current marital crisis need to sit down and shut up. She is the victim of an affair," Dr. Clarke said recently. "Her husband committed adultery and that action is 100% his fault! Nothing—absolutely nothing—Christie did led to his adultery. Her marriage, like the hundreds I've seen in therapy where adultery occurred, can be saved and rebuilt into a great marriage."

Dr. Clarke went on to give practical advice in the Brinkley case and others similar to it. "Phase One is recovery from the trauma of the adultery. Phase Two is doing a Marriage Makeover: learning how to make time for each other, reach deep levels of communication, meet each other's needs and find a close friend to hold each accountable in their areas of weakness."

"Every marriage, no matter how badly damaged, can be saved to become a great marriage," concluded Dr. Clarke.

Dr. Clarke is the author of a recently released book with a proven plan to renovate every marriage. He is available for interviews.
