HELEN WIDGER MIDDLEBROOKE is a homemaker and homeschooling mother. Amid changing diapers and grading chemistry tests, she is a freelance writer and columnist. Her weekly column about family life, 'In the Middle,' has been published by several newspapers and appears on the Internet. After moving six times in 20 years of marriage, she and her husband, Mike, and their eight children now live on Guam.
